Pamela Tatge is drawn to the Pillow’s emphasis on nurturing emerging talent.
Jacob’s Pillow has selected Wesleyan University’s top arts administrator to lead the world-renowned dance festival in the Berkshires.
Pamela Tatge, a Connecticut native and Wesleyan alum, will head the country’s longest running dance festival after a 16-year stint as director of the University’s Center for the Arts.
Tatge said the Pillow has been her go-to source for identifying dance companies she’s been interested in presenting on campus. She said she’s also drawn to the Pillow’s emphasis on nurturing emerging talent and showcasing companies from around the world.
"I want to talk to choreographers, audiences, understand what is it about that programming mix that works so well, and how can we expand the vision," Tatge said.
Tatge begins her new role at Jacob’s Pillow in April.
She succeeds Ella Baff, who left last year after 17 years to take a new position at the Andrew Mellon Foundation.
