WNPR has an experimental radio project and we want you to get involved. The idea is simple: we provide a theme; you call our hotline and tell a story.
The theme: What's so hard about being a teen?
On Friday, January 30, WNPR's Where We Live will talk about the challenges of being a teenager.
West Hartford teacher and author Cindy Rodriguez, will talk about her novel, When Reason Breaks, about two very different teenage girls troubled by the demands of family and high school. Most of the action takes place at school where both girls find a friend in their English teacher. But in the end, one girl attempts suicide.
If you're a teenager, we want to hear from you.
What's the hardest thing about being a teenager? What's one thing you'd change about your high school? Call up our voicemail number and leave us a message with your story: (860) 580-9677.
Note: No one will pick up, so you introverts out there don't need to worry about personal interaction. If you mess up, just start over, or call the line and start all over again. The beauties of pre-recorded radio!
