The Connecticut House voted to approve Connecticut Supreme Court Justice Andrew McDonald to be chief justice Monday by one vote. The next stop is the Senate, where Republicans will have a one-vote majority after Democratic lawmaker Gayle Slossberg recused herself last week.
Also this hour: President Trump fired Secretary of State Rex Tillerson Tuesday. He'll be replaced by CIA Director Mike Pompeo, who is likely to shift American foreign policy to the right.
Former Pennsylvania representative Tim Murphy resigned in October after reports surfaced that the pro-life congressman encouraged a woman to have an abortion. We bring you the results of Tuesday's competitive race to replace him.
Lastly, UConn fired Kevin Ollie, head coach of the men's basketball team, Saturday, after two losing seasons followed Ollie's 2014 NCAA championship. UConn says they have 'just cause.' The trouble is no one knows what that is - including Ollie.
