The Republican and Democratic National Conventions are just around the corner. The presumptive nominees? Two of the most unpopular presidential candidates in recent history: Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

Now, maybe you’ve already picked a candidate to support. But beyond the question of who you'll be voting for this November, we want to know what you'll be voting for. This hour, as part of NPR's "A Nation Engaged" series, we find out what issues matter most to you this election season. We talk with political scientists and community members, and we take your calls, tweets, and emails.

GUESTS:

  • Dr. Ken Long - Professor of History and Political Science at the University of Saint Joseph
  • Dr. Bilal Sekou - Associate Professor of Political Science in Hillyer College at the University of Hartford
  • Gary Winfield - State Senator representing New Haven and West Haven
  • Pramod Pradhan - West Hartford resident; voter
  • Alex Tsorvas - Fairfield resident; voter
