Samite Mulondo went from a refugee camp in Kenya to collaborating with Paul Simon. This hour, the musician and Uganda native joins us in the studio to share his story and his music.
Samite escaped violence in his native Uganda in the wake of Idi Amin’s brutal reign and eventually built a successful music career in the U.S. Later in life, Samite traveled to refugee camps around the world to share his music with people who suffered from trauma. Now, Samite is telling his life’s story in a one-man play "Resilience" which premieres tonight at the University of Saint Joseph. We talk with Samite about the play and he performs in our studio.
The world premiere of Resilience is Friday, March 23, 2018, 7:30 pm at the University of St. Joseph’s Autorino Center in West Hartford. CT. Get tickets here.
