Zoning may not be the sexiest topic when it comes to headlines, but it sure has been in the news a lot lately, and it tells us a lot about what matters in our cities and towns.
This hour, we hear about some recent zoning stories making waves in different parts of the state, and we hear from you -- what has zoning law done for you lately?
In Hamden, there’s been ongoing tension between the town and Quinnipiac University over just how much influence they have over each other’s planning decisions. In Canton and New Hartford, an area along the Farmington River known as “Satan’s Kingdom” may see some new development, but the devil is in the zoning details.
In Hartford, zoning designations pave the way to bringing in a new stadium and more for the New Britain Rock Cats -- and the city’s idea of what defines a “family” could dictate whether one household gets to stay together under one big roof. What are the big zoning issues in your town?
