With the election season bearing down on us, we thought it appropriate to feature a conversation about our what our civic and social responsibilities should entail in what has turned out to be a pretty contentious time.

I invited Ed Sabationo, Suzanne Cahill, Christopher Korenowsky and Justin Gill to talk over chicken wings and a couple of beers at the fantastic Archie Moore's in New Haven's East Rock section.

Justin Gill is a software developer who has worked for the NHL and ESPN. 15 years ago he met a girl from New Haven. Together they own a house in Westville. Although Justin considers himself an urbanite, he plans to have a small farm with goats and miniature donkeys.

He loves hockey, Apple computers and only grills with charcoal. Follow Justin on Twitter.

Christopher J. Korenowsky is the Executive Director and City Librarian for the New Haven Free Public Library, a position he has held since October 2010. A graduate of Kent State University, where he received his Masters of Library and Informational Sciences, Korenowsky has almost 18 years of public library experience gained through his work at the Columbus Metropolitan Library in Columbus, Ohio.

From direct public services to administrative management positions, Korenowsky played a strong role in helping to shape CML from 1991 to 2009. In 2010, CML was awarded the top prize in the industry - being named Library of the Year by Library Journal magazine. Christopher also has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Ohio State University.

Suzanne Cahill loves being a part of the Milford community with her children Todd and Maryalice. To echo her love for our city, Suzanne launched Milford Living Magazine seven years ago to provide a printed resource matching the lifestyle and interests of our Milford family. Throughout her career in publishing Suzanne has been responsible for the development and supervision of a number of successful publications, books, and Internet product launches through RED MAT MEDIA.

In addition to her professional experience, Suzanne currently serves on the boards of The United Way of Milford and The Get in Touch Foundation. Suzanne is a member and friend to a number of civic and community-based organizations including The Milford Chamber of Commerce, The Network of Executive Women, Milford Hospital Auxiliary, The Irish Heritage Society of Milford, and The Milford Historical Society.

Ed Sabatino's career started early, for 26 years Sabatino was a radio personality, morning show co-host with Glenn Beck at KC101 and Program Director at WPLR in New Haven. At the age of 42 he decided to leave radio and venture out on his own while still working one on one with the community.

He is now the owner / partner of Pane & Sabatino Insurance in New Haven. Ed has also coached baseball and basketball for nearly 20 years. He lives in East Haven with his wife Anna and daughter Kadence.
