Ralph Nader Weighs in on the Election

Ralph Nader

Ralph Nader is not happy with either the Republican or Democratic candidates for president. He says Republicans tolerating Donald Trump will look back and be ashamed and that Democrats chose a "deeply-rooted corporatist" and "militarist." In fact, he thinks the "two party tyranny" reduces the "voices and choices" of the people and we should all consider a third-party.

Debbie Wasserman-Shultz, Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, will resign her position in response to embarrassing emails between DNC officials, including Wasserman-Schultz, conspiring to undermine Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary.

Franklin Foerjoined us two weeks ago to talk about efforts by Russia to hack into Clinton servers to help elect Donald Trump. He predicted the release of damaging emails, such as the  nearly 20,000 emails released by WikiLeaks Friday. He also predicts more to come.

The Democratic convention is shaping up to provide the same fireworks as last week's Republican convention. David Weigel from the Washington Post was supposed to join us from Philadelphia but had to instead attend an impromptu meeting with Bernie Sanders and his supporters.

Last, a grand jury will investigate claims of illegal fundraising by the state Democratic Party to benefit Governor Malloy during his 2014 bid for re-election. Many weren't happy with the SEEC settlementthat allowed the case to close before it was properly investigated.
