SHU: Lamont's Approval Rating Rises

Gov. Ned Lamont’s approval rating is up in a new poll from Sacred Heart University. The survey, reported in the Hartford Courant, shows more than 53 percent of people approve of his overall job performance. That’s up from 41 percent in April. His handling of the coronavirus pandemic scores even better -- more than 70 percent of those questioned said they approved of how he’s navigated the crisis. On the national scene, the poll finds 51 percent of state residents backing Joe Biden for president, while 26 percent opt for Donald Trump - a full 20 percent said they’re still undecided.

Correction: A previous version of this story misidentified the poll as conducted by Quinnipiac University.
