A new poll finds Massachusetts residents still support casino gambling, but have lost confidence in the casino industry regulators.
Fifty-two percent of voters who responded to a Boston Globe poll say they would keep Las Vegas-style gambling legal in Massachusetts if a repeal question ends up on the November ballot. Among voters who said they’ve paid close attention to the casino issue, 52 percent don’t have confidence in the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, which has overseen a long and bumpy process to license casinos. Gaming Commission Chairman Stephen Crosby has defended the process.
" It is like making sausage. It has its moments, but it absolutely is a good process."
Crosby has been accused of bias and recused himself from selecting a casino operator in Greater Boston.
