Police Searching For Suspect After Shooting Incident In Vernon

Connecticut police officers from several agencies are using dogs and drones in a search for at least one suspect in a shooting at an apartment complex. Officers responded to the shooting in Vernon shortly before 1 a.m. Friday. Police said an apartment building was struck by gunfire, but no one was injured. The suspect or suspects led police on a car chase into Somers, where the vehicle became disabled. The suspect or suspects fled on foot. Police have lifted a shelter in place advisory for residents in Somers but are urging them to remain cautious. Somers schools have switched to remote learning for the day.
