An investigation is underway into allegations of hazing involving a Connecticut high school football team.
Cromwell Superintendent Paula Talty said Wednesday the alleged hazing occurred about a week ago, but she didn't detail the extent of the incident involving the Cromwell/Portland high school football team.
Talty said the district won't tolerate any harassment to its students.
Portland Superintendent Philip O'Reilly said the investigation is being handled in Cromwell by the police department and school district, along with the state Department of Children and Families. O'Reilly said in an email to parents and staff that the allegations involve several underclassmen from Portland and Cromwell who "may have been hazing targets."
The two schools joined over the summer to form one football team.
