Hamilton has come to Hartford as part of its tour of the United States.

Hamilton, the Broadway smash hit, has come to Hartford as part of its tour of the United States.

It began its run at The Bushnell on Tuesday, December 11 at 7:30 p.m.

The modern look at the life of revolutionary figure Alexander Hamilton runs until December 30 – a total of 23 shows in 19 days.

Connecticut actor Tre Frazier is currently rehearsing with the cast. He said that he’ll be joining the production soon and that it's exciting to be performing in New England.

“With the show being set in revolutionary time -- to have a place that was one of the thirteen colonies and being one of those capital cities here -- is probably pretty cool,” Frazier said. “There’s a couple of references –not specifically to Connecticut -- just through New England history and all of that and I think that’ll play up pretty well here.”

Frazier, a Bloomfield native, said that there’s a lot of excitement around Hamilton in Hartford and that friends of his are scrambling to get tickets.

Only three tickets were available for purchase by 3:30 p.m. on the day of the first showing.

Frankie Graziano is the host of The Wheelhouse, focusing on how local and national politics impact the people of Connecticut.
