Speaking on NBC's "Today" show Tuesday, actor Charlie Sheen revealed he is HIV-positive and has spent millions trying to hide it. This hour, we take a closer look at the words Sheen used in discussing his actions and illness.

Also, Oxford Dictionaries just picked its 2015 Word of the Year and, well, it's not a word. It's an emoji(a pictograph) called "Face With Tears of Joy." We discuss the implications of this peculiar selection, which has some of us feeling a bit ¯\_(?)_/¯.

GUESTS:

  • Carolyn Paine - Actress/comedian, dancer, choreographer, and director of CONNetic Dance
  • Rand Richards Cooper - Author, essayist, and restaurant critic for The New York Times
  • Irene Papoulis - Lecturer in the Allan K. Smith Center for Writing and Rhetoric at Trinity College
