Norwich Sea Unicorns Lose Major League Baseball Affiliation

The Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball are dropping its affiliation with the Norwich Sea Unicorns. It comes as Minor League Baseball is reducing the number of teams affiliated with MLB clubs.

The Sea Unicorns was a new name for 2020 season, which was ultimately canceled because of the pandemic. The team was previously known as the Connecticut Tigers. Officials with the team said they learned of the change through a press release and they're evaluating options to continue bringing baseball to Norwich.
