Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, says President Obama's economic policies have hit women hard. Romney made a campaign stop Wednesday in Hartford to deliver a message meant to win over female voters.
Romney visited a Hartford printing company, Alpha Graphics, owned by Karen Brinker of Greenwich. He picked the venue to talk about what he calls President Obama's war on women. He says Obama didn't cause the recession but he has made it worse.
"858,000 more women are out of work under this President. This President has failed America's women. And if I'm the next President I will go to work to get America's women good jobs, rising incomes and growing businesses."
His message resonated with Lori Friedler who drove up from Madison to hear Romney speak. She and her husband own a family business. She's Latina and says Romney is what the country needs in a leader.
"I think we need someone with integrity, we need someone who is a unifier, someone who is pro-business, pro-family and pro women!"
Romney's message targeting women comes after a Tuesday ABC-Washington Post poll finds female voters picking President Obama over Romney 57 to 38 percent.
