The state's attorney's office has launched an investigation after a Hartford police officer fatally shot a man over the weekend.
Hartford Police Chief Jason Thody said that officers received a 911 call about a man with a gun Saturday night. They found a man armed with a rifle and handgun in a parking lot.
Thody said the man refused to drop his weapons and was shot once by an officer. His identity was not released.
Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin has asked that body camera footage be released as soon as possible.
