The last day of March was a big day in the legislature for the future of affordable housing and desegregated neighborhoods in Connecticut. The General Assembly’s Planning and Development Committee moved forward to the House and Senate a few measures aimed at achieving more equitable housing access statewide. An organization that championed some of the measures is Desegregate CT. That group’s founder is attorney Sara Bronin, Hartford’s first lady. She joined All Things Considered to talk about -- among other things -- why she thinks it’s important that towns be given very limited latitude to cite “character” when making zoning decisions.
