James Taylor Among 17 To Receive Presidential Medal Of Freedom

President Obama named 17 recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom Monday, one of whom calls western Massachusetts home.James Taylor has sold more than 100 million albums over 40 years earning five Grammy Awards. Taylor is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame. A Boston-native Taylor lives in Washington, Massachusetts and is a regular at Tanglewood.

Yogi Berra, Willie Mays, Steven Spielberg, Barbara Streisand and U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski are among the others receiving the nation’s highest civilian honor. The awards will be presented at the White House on November 24th.
