Hillary Clinton to Campaign in Connecticut Ahead of Primary

Apr 18, 2016

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is bringing her presidential campaign to Connecticut.

The Democrat is scheduled to make a public appearance on Thursday, several days ahead of Connecticut's April 26 Democratic and Republican presidential primaries.

Clinton's campaign says the former New York senator will discuss her plans to address gun violence. High-profile Connecticut Democrats, including Governor Dannel Malloy, have called for stronger federal gun laws in light of the 2012 mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Clinton has proposed comprehensive background check requirements. Her campaign said she'll also discuss her plan to "break down the barriers that hold too many families back."

Further details of Clinton's visit were not released Monday.

Clinton's daughter Chelsea is scheduled to appear in Hartford on Wednesday.
