Governor Dannel Malloy is set to interview three candidates for the position of Connecticut's education commissioner.
The three are Fran Rabinowitz, the interim superintendent for the Bridgeport Public Schools; Nate Quesnel, the East Hartford superintendent of schools; and Alan Ingram, the deputy commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
The three were chosen from among applicants reviewed by a State Board of Education search committee. It's unclear whether others may also be interviewed.
Dianna Wentzell, the chief academic officer for the Department of Education, is serving as the interim education commissioner. She took on the job temporarily after Stefan Pryor announced he would not seek a second term.
Pryor was recently appointed as commerce secretary for the state of Rhode Island.
