Early March Snowstorm Brings Up To A Foot Of Snow Across Connecticut

Most of Connecticut received between 8 to 12 inches of heavy snow in a late-winter storm. Schools across the state are closed and many businesses, colleges, and the state government are opening late.

Meteorologist Garett Argianas says the temperatures will rise to about 40 degrees on Monday, followed by several days of colder weather, which could cause icy spots.

As of 6:20 am, more than 11,000 households were without power. Bradley International Airport reported 14 departing flights were cancelled.

Governor Ned Lamont directed Level 2 state employees to report to work at 10:30 am. This is the first time the designation has been used, since former Governor Dannel Malloy signed an executive order in March, 2018 that changed the designation of “essential” personnel to Level 1, and “nonessential” personnel to Level 2. Lamont’s office said these new designations will continue to be used moving forward.
