Connecticut Photographer Creates Historical Tintypes; The Meadows Brothers Perform

If you've ever seen a photograph from the Civil War era, there's a good chance it was created using a process known as tintype photography. These pictures are honest and organic in nature, and they're beginning to make a comeback within the modern photography world.

This hour, we talk with one Connecticut photographer who has based his entire business off of the tintype process. He tells us a bit about how these photos are made and how they've inspired a new music video series called "The Tintype Recordings."

Later in the program, we also hear from one of the bands involved in that series. The Meadows Brothers stop by our Studio 3 for a bit of live conversation and music-making...that's pretty honest and organic in its own right.

GUESTS:

  • Ty Morin -Photographer and filmmaker based in Collinsville, Connecticut
  • Ian Meadows - Guitarist and vocalist for The Meadows Brothers
  • Dustin Meadows - Guitarist, vocalist, and harmonica player for The Meadows Brothers

John Dankosky and Chion Wolf contributed to this show.
