Connecticut Airport Authority to Pursue Casino at Bradley

The leader of the Connecticut Airport Authority said he wants to bring a casino to Bradley International Airport.

The Hartford Courant reported the airport authority is joining a growing list of suitors to host a casino that the operators of Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun want to open somewhere between Hartford and the Massachusetts state line.

Kevin Dillon, the authority's executive director, said the authority plans to submit a bid for a casino if it's approved by the town of Windsor Locks, where the airport is located. He said the passenger traffic would make it a good location for a casino.

Developers so far also have pitched locations in East Hartford and Enfield for a casino that would be jointly run by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and the Mohegan Tribe. The tribes are aiming to compete with an MGM casino planned for Springfield, Massachusetts.
