Since March, several infants in Connecticut have died at home daycares – resulting in police investigations and heightened concern among parents.
This hour, we talk about child care – many of us rely on it, how do we keep it safe?
We dig into child care safety with the Office of Early Childhood’s Acting Commissioner and Licensing Division Director. We explore how child care in Connecticut compares to other states and we look into the price tag of daycare services. How do working families afford the child care they need?
Plus -- many parents in the United States have to put their child in day care sooner than they’d like to because they have to go back to work! Compared to the rest of the world, the U.S. is known for having an especially hectic work culture and allowing for little paid parental leave. We take a look at the parental leave policies in other countries -- like our neighbor Canada. What can we learn from those places?
Are you a working parent balancing child care, work and family time?
