The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said a Boston-bound Amtrak train has struck and killed a person on the tracks in Connecticut.
The New York-based commuter rail, subway and bus agency says the death occurred at the Stratford Metro-North station at about 8:30 am on Wednesday.
The agency said the person was not authorized to be on the tracks. No name was released.
The train left Washington, D.C. early Wednesday morning and was due in at Boston's South Station at 11:05 am. Amtrak did not immediately respond to a request for information.
MTA police are investigating.
