June is LGBT Pride Month — a time when marches, festivals and other events commemorate the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City.
This hour, we examine “gay pride” across the centuries — from ancient Greece to modern America.
We speak with Emmy Award winning film director and producer John Scagliotti about his film Before Homosexuals, which chronicles same sex desire from ancient times. It will be featured in this year’s 30th Connecticut LGBT Film Festival.
We also explore same sex rights in the U.S including the marriage equality movement. And later, the director of the Film Festival joins us to talk about the role film has had in advancing LGBT rights and he previews some of the films featured in the 9 day festival that begins tomorrow.
