On his first day of the job, Gov. Ned Lamont made a lot of requests.
He requested state lawmakers to not play the "blame game" and instead confront the challenge of fixing state finances head on.
Lamont asked business leaders to take the lead on workforce development, and mayors and first selectmen to produce cost-savings through regionalization.
And he urged organized labor to "show that collective bargaining works in tough times, as well as good times."
Lamont emphasized, time and again, that his administration would work with any willing partner to move the state forward.
In this special edition of The Wheelhouse, we evaluate Lamont's performance. We reflect on the pomp and circumstance of Inauguration Day in modern times and how it differs from yesteryear. And we let you listen directly to Connecticut's new governor as he delivers the first speeches of his new career.
