There are some weeks in the news when it seems like everything that’s been roiling and boiling in America comes to a head - all at once. A bombing in New York city - with other devices left unexploded - and a suspect in custody. The incident has once again prompted fears among America’s Muslim community, worried about backlash.

And it prompted the Trump campaign to liken Syrian refugees to poisoned Skittles.

In Tulsa and Charlotte, protests after black men were killed by police...again. This amid a controversy centered on black athletes and their right to protest such killings.

In Washington, senators deliver a withering takedown of the Wells Fargo CEO. He sits there and takes it...knowing full well his millions are safe, and he won’t face any jail time.

This hour, we consider these stories and look at what the polls really tell us, only a few short weeks out from the election.
